MICA’s Rivals of the West Theatre Company is formed each Fall to produce serious drama in BBOX in the Gateway each Spring. The Rivals company is made up of MICA students from the Foundation year to the Graduate level and from every major discipline offered by the college. Rivals is led by faculty from the Humanistic Studies, Fibers, and Architecture and Environmental Design departments. The spring productions each year award each Rivals student with six credits, three academic and three studio, that form the central requirement in MICA’s Theater Concentration program. The Theater Concentration provides students with in-depth, real-world, hands-on creative and design experience and training in all aspects of theater production.
