DANCING AT LUGHNASA
![]() | Maryland Institute College of Art's (MICA) student theater company, Rivals of the West, will present Dancing at Lughnasa an award-winning play by Brian Friel. Shows will run from Thursday, April 4 – Sunday, April 14A haunting memory play of a long-ago summer, Dancing at Lughnasa transports us to a small cottage in County Donegal, in 1936 Ireland. The last scenes of the Mundy clan, shot through with love and loss, emerge out of the mists of lost time just before the family breaks apart forever. The play is filled with dance and music; the dreamy songs of the 30’s, the driving beat of Irish reels. In this movement and rhythm memory lives, and we are gently swept way by its haunting, golden spell. admission: $10 students | $15 general |
